How old should I be to hire a car?

Age limitations are set by the car hire agent. In the majority of cases you have to be not less than 25 years old, but you can still rent a car if you are over 21 years old with some suppliers. In such cases a mandatory surcharge usually applies and the ability to lower excess charges may also apply. This varies from one company to another. Some car types may also be restricted.

Can I use my debit card to release the vehicle?

In most cases you must provide a valid credit card in the driver’s name when you are picking up your vehicle. Debit Cards are not accepted. However some rental agents will accept a debit card if you choose to opt for excess reduction insurance at the rental desk. You can however use your debit card online when you are making your booking.

Can I get a complete quote without entering my credit card details?

Yes, from all of our suppliers you can get a quote without having to enter credit card details though to actually place the booking some suppliers require credit cards to secure the booking. All suppliers allow you to place a booking without having to become a member of their mailing list unlike many online distributors.

What is the fuel policy?

The fuel policy is dependent on the car rental agent. We display this at time of booking under rate details. The fuel policy is also clearly stated in the terms and conditions under ‘fuel policy’. Normally our car rental agents will provide a full tank of fuel when you are collecting your vehicle and will ask you to have a full tank of fuel when returning the vehicle (“pick up full return full” fuel policy). Alternatively, you might be requested to pay for the tank of fuel upon collection and you can return the car with an empty tank (“pick up full return empty” fuel policy). A security deposit is normally taken so it is important to fill the tank up when dropping the vehicle off, this will prevent any additional charges. Please check your rental conditions for details of your Fuel Policy.

What is included in the rate?

We normally include the following in our rates however this can change depending on which country you are traveling in. Collision Damage Waiver, Third Party Liability Protection, Tax, Airport Fee, Unlimited Milage and breakdown Assistance. This list may change and we advise you to check at time of booking what will be included in your rate. We clearly show this information when you are selecting your car and it’s specified under the rate details section. If you have a confirmed booking, all these details can be found on your rental conditions that we sent to you at time of booking.

Will I be charged by failing to show up?

No. However, if you do not require a vehicle please cancel the booking at least 24 hours prior to the pick up time. Please let us know if you need your reservation cancelled and we would be happy to assist you with that. Also, you can cancel the booking here.

How do I make a change?

The easiest way to modify or cancel your booking is through “make changes” link. These links will take you directly to the appropriate supplier’s web pages to a change or cancellation. The companies all have different login on procedures and these include a mixture of email address, last name and reservation confirmation number. Please note that you must enter this data “exactly” like you did when making the booking and as they appear on your confirmation. The data fields are all case sensitive so you must use the same upper and lower case lettering as used for the booking.

How can I add an additional driver?

This is quite easily done at time of vehicle collection. Just tell the agent you wish to add this to your booking. The cost of this is payable locally in the local currency. You can also request an additional driver on step 3 of the booking process.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

If your flight is cancelled or delayed, please call our 24 hour call centre to let us know. One of our Travel Advisers will be able to assist. The number to call will always be displayed on your rental voucher. Please note that we cannot offer refunds due to delayed or cancelled flights.

When do I get my discount?
